The goal of our Summer Shakespeare Project is
to annually produce a work of Shakespeare to be presented
in neighborhood parks through collaboration with local parks
departments and other area not for profits that use the park
as a venue. Each play is accompanied by a youth workshop.
These workshops allow young audience members to engage with
Shakespeare's text through activities meant to demystify the
sometimes daunting language of the Bard.
Communicable Arts provides this programming free
of charge to organizations and free of charge to their audiences
to promote the idea that theatre belongs in all communities
as a public amenity.
